Etsy Ads Optimization for Handmade Fashion & Accessories

Etsy Ads Optimization for Handmade Fashion & Accessories

Client: Jewelry brand (confidential)

email: fashionfinds.etsy@gmail.com

🎯 Goal:

To increase revenue and ROAS from Etsy Ads for a handmade store selling beaded bags and satin corsets, while identifying high-performing listings and improving conversion rates through smarter ad spend.

📈 Overview:

The shop had many listings with solid visual appeal, but inconsistent click-through rates and mixed return on ad spend (ROAS). The owner wanted to understand where ads were wasting money, which products had the most potential, and how to scale performance without increasing budget unnecessarily.

✅ Outcome:

By pausing underperforming ads and scaling listings with high click-through and conversion rates, I significantly increased ad efficiency and total store revenue. Several listings achieved ROAS over 30–60x, making the campaign highly profitable with controlled ad spend.

This campaign now serves as a benchmark for how small Etsy brands can use analytics and data-driven strategy to turn Etsy Ads into a reliable, scalable growth tool.

🛠️ What I Did:

1. Audit & Testing

  • Conducted a full review of all listings in Etsy Ads.
  • Analyzed views, click-through rate (CTR), revenue, and ROAS per listing.
  • Turned off listings with CTRs below 1% and poor ROAS (e.g. <3.0), especially where spend exceeded $10 with no orders.
  • Focused budget on products with proven conversion (e.g. corsets with >1% CTR and high ROAS).

2. Ad Optimization by Listing

  • Boosted high-performing products like:
  • The Plus Size Corset with 172K views, 2208 clicks, and a ROAS of 4.82
  • A satin corset with ROAS 13.10
  • Another floral listing achieving ROAS 33.24
  • White corsets reaching a ROAS of 52–63+

These items were kept active and scaled, while low-performing ones were paused or refined.

3. Keyword & Listing Adjustments

  • Optimized titles and tags for best sellers with strong ROAS.
  • Adjusted product photography to better match high-performing visuals.
  • Aligned ad copy and search terms to match high-converting buyer intent (e.g. “bridal corset,” “beaded bag outfit”).

4. Revenue & Spend Strategy

  • Ensured that listings spending more than $5 delivered at least 3–4x ROAS, or were adjusted.
  • Introduced dynamic campaign rotation: ads paused and refreshed to avoid ad fatigue.
  • Manual bids adjusted based on CTR and order conversion.
